Rhodes set for Greece's first six-star resort

In exciting news for the island, Rhodes is set for the first six-star resort to be built in Greece.

The resort’s design will be inspired by Rhodes’ rich history and culture.

The structure of the resort will be based on Rhodes Castle, featuring a replica of the castle wall. There will also be a moat, representing the Aegean Sea that surrounds the island.

The all-inclusive resort will contain 1,000 beds and will feature six restaurants, nine bars, a conference centre, water park and even a private cinema.

The luxury resort will also include numerous sports facilities such as football pitches, mini golf courses and tennis courts.

Despite being all-inclusive, the resort aims to maintain links with Rhodes, such as its through its design being influenced by the island’s culture.

Aimed at the high-end, luxury tourism market, the resort is expected to be completed this year. The announcement follows the recent news that Rhodes’ airport is set for a major facelift over the next few years.

2017 was a highly positive year for Rhodes in terms of tourism, and industry experts are predicting that the island will once again be among the most popular destinations in Europe for summer 2018 holidays.

The island's popularity has been reflected by the decision to build the country's first six-star resort here.
